Properties:

Linegamaf-E contains two antihyperglycemic agents.

– Linagliptin belongs to the dipeptidyl peptidase-44 (DP-PPD) inhibitor class.

– Empagliflozin belongs to the sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor class.

Indications:

Linegamaf-E is used to improve blood glucose control in adults aged 18 years and older with type 2 diabetes mellitus when metformin, linagliptin, or empagliflozin alone is insufficient to control blood glucose levels.

Dosage:

– The recommended starting dose is 10 mg empagliflozin and 5 mg linagliptin once daily.

– The dose may be increased to 25 mg empagliflozin and 5 mg linagliptin once daily

– When using Linegamaf-E with metformin, the metformin dose should remain unchanged. – When using Linegamaf-E with a sulfonylurea or insulin, the dose of the sulfonylurea or insulin should be reduced to minimize the risk of hypoglycemia.

– When switching from empagliflozin 10 mg or 25 mg daily and linagliptin 5 mg daily to Linegamaf-E, the daily doses of empagliflozin and linagliptin should be maintained.

Contraindications:

Linegamaf-E should not be used in the following cases:

– Hypersensitivity to sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors or dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DP-4) inhibitors.

Side effects:

Linegamaf-E may cause some side effects such as:

– Sore throat and rhinitis.

– Urinary tract and genital infections.

– Thirst.

– Hypoglycemia (especially when used with a sulfonylurea or insulin).

– Constipation.

– Cough. – Itching and skin rash.

– Increased digestive enzymes (amylase and lipase).

– Increased urination.

Warnings:

Tell your doctor if you have:

– Kidney or liver problems.

– Diabetic ketoacidosis.

– Fluid loss.

– High red blood cell count.

– Lower limb amputation.

– Elderly patients.

– Heart failure.

– Gangrene of the foot.

– Acute pancreatitis.

– Use caution when driving and operating machinery.

– Pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Drug Interactions:

Tell your doctor if you are taking the following medications:

– Insulin and sulfonylureas.

– Diuretics.

The Linegamaf-E pack contains 3 Blisters, each Blister containing 10 coated tablets

(3 Blisters * 10 coated tablets).
