Each 1mL of Mucomaf drops contains:

Ambroxol HCl …………….…..…. 7.5mg

DESCRIPTION:

Ambroxol Hydrochloride: Ambroxol works to thin down and break up phlegm (sputum) and is used to clear congestion in the treatment of respiratory diseases which have thick phlegm or too much phlegm. Ambroxol is also used as a pain reliever for sore throats as it has a local numbing effect.

Ambroxol starts working about 30 minutes after it has been taken. The breakdown of acid mucopolysaccharide fibers makes the sputum thinner and less viscous and therefore more easily removed by coughing. Although sputum volume eventually decreases, its viscosity remains low for as long as treatment is maintained.

INDICATION:

Ambroxol Hydrochloride: which is used to thin the mucus in acute and chronic bronchial and lung diseases where thick, tenacious mucus is a problem.

Dosage of Mucomaf tablets:

Adults:

daily dose of 30 mg (one Ambroxol tablet) to 120 mg (4 Ambroxol tablets) taken in 2 to 3 divided doses.

Dosage of Mucomaf Syrup:

Children from 2 to 5 years of age:

2.5 ml three times daily (equivalent to 22.5 mg Ambroxol hydrochloride per day).

Children from 6 to 12 years of age:

5 ml two to three times daily (equivalent to 30 – 45 mg Ambroxol hydrochloride per day).

Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age:

The usual dosage is 10 ml three times daily (equivalent to 90 mg Ambroxol hydrochloride per day) for the first 2-3 days and 5 ml twice daily (equivalent to 60 Ambroxol hydrochloride per day).

For adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: the therapeutic effect may be enhanced by increasing the dosage to 20 ml twice daily (equivalent to 120 mg Ambroxol hydrochloride per day).

Dosage of Mucomaf oral drops:

Children from 2 to 5 years of age:

1 ml three times daily (equivalent to 22.5 mg Ambroxol hydrochloride per day).

Children from 6 to 12 years of age:

2 ml two to three times daily (equivalent to 30 – 45 mg Ambroxol hydrochloride per day).

Storage Conditions:

– Keep the medicine in a dry place at a temperature below 30 °C.

– Keep the medicine out of the reach of children.

– Protect the medicine from direct sunlight.

– Do not use Mucomaf syrup after expire date.
