Careflox-Plus
COMPOSITION:
Each film coated tablet of Careflox-Plus contains:
Ornidazole …………………………………….. 500mg
Ofloxacin ……………………………………….. 200mg
DESCRIPTION:
Ornidazole: is a 5-nitroimidazole derivative active against protozoa and anaerobic bacteria. It is converted to reduction products that interact with DNA to cause destruction of helical DNA structure and strand leading to a protein synthesis inhibition and cell death in susceptible organisms.
Ofloxacin: is a medication in the fluoroquinolone class used to treat multiple gram-positive and gram-negative bacterial infections. Ofloxacin is bactericidal and its mode of action depends on blocking of bacterial DNA replication by binding itself to an enzyme called DNA gyrase, which allows the untwisting required to replicate one DNA double helix into two. Notably the drug has 100 times higher affinity for bacterial DNA gyrase than for mammalian.
