DESCRIPTION:
Cefadroxil is used to treat bacterial infections in many different parts of the body. It belongs to the class of medicines known as cephalosporin antibiotics. It works by killing bacteria or preventing their growth. However, this medicine will not work for colds, flu, or other virus infections.
INDICATION:
Cefadroxil is an antibiotic that can treat many types of bacterial infections in adults and children. This includes urinary tract infections (UTIs), strep throat, and skin infections. Cefadroxil works as a first-generation cephalosporin antibiotic to fight the infection. It comes as generic capsules, and a liquid suspension. The antibiotic is taken by mouth, usually once or twice a day. But the dosage depends on the type of infection you have, how serious it is, and for children, weight.
DOSAGE:
Adults:
500mg – 1000mg every 12 hours.
Children:
Pharyngitis and tonsilitis:
15mg/1kg body weight every 12 hours, or 30mg/1kg body weight once daily for 10 days.
Skin and soft tissue infection:
15mg/1kg body weight every 12 hours.
Urinary tract infections:
15mg/1kg body weight every 12 hours.
Storage Conditions:
– Keep the medicine in a dry place at a temperature below 30 °C.
– Keep the medicine out of the reach of children.
– Protect the medicine from direct sunlight.
– Do not use Roxilmaf tablets after expire date.
